If your Saeco Espresso Machine is making a loud or unusual noise, please see below for possible causes and solutions. The water tank is not correctly insertedIt is important that the water tank is inserted correctly into the machine. If it is not inserted correctly, it can draw air instead of water.
* For espresso machines with a water tank on the front: please make sure that it is pushed back fully to make sure it is well inserted.
* For espresso machines with a water tank on top of the machine: please ensure that the area under the water tank is free from dirt, particles or coffee beans.
There is trapped air in the machineWhen air is trapped in your Saeco Espresso Machine, it will make a loud noise and no water will be drawn from the water tank into the machine.
To resolve this, follow the steps below:
1. Switch OFF the machine
2. Empty the water tank and remove the AquaClean filter (or any other water filter) filter
3. Fill the water tank with water and place it back in position
4. Switch the machine back ON. When the machine has heated up, select hot water and dispense 2-3 cups of hot water.
If you use an AquaClean water filter, follow these extra steps to make sure the filter is prepared and correctly installed for use:
1. Shake the AquaClean water filter for 5 seconds
2. Hold the filter upside down in a container/bowl with water until no more air bubbles come out
3. Place the filter back into the water tank and fill the water tank with water
4. Restart the machine and switch it off and back on
5. Select hot water and dispense 2-3 cups of hot water
Please note that if you have been using the AquaClean water filter for more than 3 months, your filter should be replaced as it might be clogged.
The brew group is dirty and needs to be greasedIt is normal that your Saeco Espresso Machine makes some noises while brewing your coffee. However, if the machine starts making an unusual noise, we advise that you clean the brew group and lubricate it.
It is important to rinse the brew unit of your Saeco espresso machine weekly.
Follow the steps below or watch our tutorial video:
1. Switch OFF the machine and wait until it is completely off and does not make any more noises (this takes about 15-20 seconds)
2. Open the service door and remove the brew group by pressing the "PUSH" button to the right side, hold it, and pull it towards you
3. Rinse the brew group thoroughly with lukewarm water.
4. Grease the brew unit (see the instructions in the following video).
5. Let the brew group air dry and then place it back.
